Alamosa Rotary Club partnered with the Alamosa Friends of the Library in mid-February to select gently used children’s books from Spines, the Friend’s book store.
Rotarians cleaned the books up and donated them to Reach Out and Read, a local program where doctors and nurses distribute books to children during their pediatric check-ups as well as advise parents on the importance of reading aloud to their children.
Reach Out and Read has shown to encourage early literacy skills and school readiness.
