The Alamosa Rotary Club is part of District 5470, which encompasses 58 Rotary Clubs in the southern two-thirds of Colorado. We meet every Monday at noon at Juanitos Mexican Kitchen located at 1019 6th Street, Alamosa.
Our Board of Directors includes:
- President: Dean Swift
- Past President: Nancy Starling Ross
- Secretary: Kelly Gurule
- Treasurer: Chas Moeller
Each week at our meetings a different presenter from within the club or the community gives a presentation to our members on various topics. This way we stay connected on all the things happening in and around the San Luis Valley, while also learning about potential partnerships and service project ideas.
Here are just a few of the community and international projects the Alamosa Rotary Club supports:
- Reach Out and Read
- San Luis Valley Habitat for Humanity
- Bonfils Blood Drive
- Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley
- Investing in the Rotary Foundation
- … and many others!!
Our motto is “Service Above Self,” and we hold that motto with the 1.2 million other Rotarians who are scattered across the world in more than 32,000 clubs in over 200 countries.
The Four-Way Test
From the earliest days of the organization, Rotarians were concerned with promoting high ethical standards in their professional lives. One of the world’s most widely printed and quoted statements of business ethics is the 4-Way Test, created in 1932 by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor.
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
